A statement piece made entirely from what was left behind. 🌻
Measuring an impressive 2 feet × 3 feet, The Grand Sunflower is handcrafted piece by piece using scrap wood collected from my shop. Every petal, leaf and section is individually cut, shaped and thoughtfully arranged to let the natural grain, colour and character of the wood become part of the artwork.
No added paints or stains. Every colour you see comes naturally from the different woods themselves.
At this scale, the tiny variations in grain and tone come together to create something bold from materials that may otherwise have been discarded.
Because each Grand Sunflower is created from the scraps available to me, no two will ever be exactly alike. Wood species, grain patterns and colouring will naturally vary, making every piece truly one of a kind.
